Miss Elise is a childcare expert with a proven track record of success. With extensive experience teaching children of all abilities, Elise enrolled in childcare classes as early as 11 years old. She became an official Kindergarten Aid in 5th grade while mentoring younger children in voice and musical theater in her hometown of Washington, DC.  When studying psychology, linguistics, opera voice, philosophy, and Mediterranean history living in France, Turkey, Greece and Italy for 5 years, Elise would teach college level and younger students in English as a Second Language. Upon graduating from the American College of Greece with Honors, Elise became the youngest administrative staffer at the study abroad school, College Year in Athens.  Elise has spent the past 5 years working with children in San Diego, where she has excelled as an assistant and then head teacher at Miss Lynda's Preschool, and has provided private holistic education for young children from around the world.

 

Elise is currently pursuing her post-graduate studies in Child Development and Music Therapy at MiraCosta. She aspires to become a Certified Music Therapist in addition to a well-rounded and nurturing teacher for her young students. 

 

Elise is certified in Sensory and Emotional Education from Fun and Function, CPR and First Aid from the American Red Cross, and as a Monitor from the State of California. She holds the Outstanding Graduate Award in Liberal Studies from The American College of Greece, and passes on her own interdisciplinary educational background to her students (please see "Education" page for my information).

 

Her approach offers an emphasis in Play Therapy, Music Therapy, Piaget Developmental Theories, and Montessori. While Elise loves teaching children from all backgrounds, Elise has a special talent for working with Neurodivergent children and those with sensory issues.  

 

Elise is a true professional who loves teaching all children and is confident in her ability to make a positive impact on their lives.
